- Super League: Runde 8 OPPDATERT

-
Sydney Uni - Bonnyrigg 0-4
-
-
-
In a heartbeat Bonnyrigg sensation and Sydney FC trialist Jason Kencevski proved why he is hot properety by scoring a hat trick against us in a 10 minute period of the second half.
-
Plenty would argue that he should not have even been on the park after he nearly scalped our Norwegian defender Emil in the 18th minute of the first half. With blood streaming from a deep head gash Emil exited the arena to the applause of the Uni faithful.
-
Our boys defended well and opened up the Bonnyrigg defence on a number of occassions, but it seems our touch in front of goal has deserted us in recent weeks.
-
Bonnyrigg will certainly be the team to beat with basically a premier league line up taking the field each week. Injuries may test them down the track as the depth of their squad was exposed by our Under 20's who routed them 7-2, with many of those lads now pressing for 1st grade call up.
-
At the end of the day it was a 15-minute period in the 2nd half that cost us dearly and we struggled to recover.
I was very proud of the boys and they did stick to the task right to the end.
Our boys are very disappointed at the moment but I know we can bounce back next week against Melita.
I am looking forward to the Hoff's match report.
-
I was also very happy to see so many supporters and players attend the game. Hopefully you will all come back and watch our next home game ... we still have wine left!
-
Keep the faith

Kaptein Hoffs rapport:
-
The Bonnyrigg white eagles grabbed the super league lead after defeating previous leaders Sydney University at Oval Number 1. Bonnyrigg broke down Uni 4 times in a 15 minute window late in the second half to secure the 3 points and to leave uni on the edge of the top 5 in what is a crowded leaderboard.
-
The white eagles were put under some pressure early in the first half with Pat Gavaghan creating room down both flanks. However, aside from a diving header from Choc which grazed the near post, Uni couldn't capitalise on some early pressure with many shots.
-
Box head pulled off a rare White Eagles shot, with an easy save at the near post. However, during the incident it appeared that our Danish Import emil's head was stomped on several times by an opposition players and was knocked out. Whilst the linesman had an unobstructed view of the situation, he did not report the incident to the ref.
-
This meant a Uni reshuffle, with the Joker coming on to replace a blood drenched emil. It remained 0-0 until half time.
-
In the second half, Uni played a deeper counter attacking style, sitting back and trying to hurt their opposition on the break. With Ace and the greyhound both possessing an abundance of speed uni were getting into dangerous positions however failed to get the final ball when it mattered.
-
The tide turned however when bonnyrigg scored a goal from almost nothing. This led to a landslide where the sheer momentum of bonnyrigg was hard to stop. 4 Quick goals inside a 15 minute period was enough to give uni the killer blow in what was a fairly entertaining game.

Thanks to everyone who attended. It was great to see such a big crowd at oval number 1. We appreciate your support and gaurentee that our minor form slump will turn around sooner rather than later.
